Three Week Program

We will immerse you within two projects in India: Helping the street children of Delhi and working at an elephant conservation centre. The former is one of the most rewarding camp projects that we offer. On the streets of Delhi, over 175,000 children are estimated to be homeless and struggling to survive. The majority of these children are runaways who have fled from their home environment due to poverty, loss of parents or more concerning reasons.

Our Camp India programme focuses on our participants spending 4 days a week with these children; teaching them English, arts and crafts and improving their quality of life. This can be, for example, helping to build and decorate their community centres – these centres can be the difference between a child spending their life in poverty or developing skills, gaining confidence and finding a way out of the slums.

Our other project involves Indian elephants, which are listed as endangered as their population has dropped by over 50% in the last 65 years! With the Camp India programme, you will be able to give a minimum of two days of your time to work on elephant conservation within India. This involves bathing, feeding and showing some affection towards these mammoths! Make sure you bring your camera for that elephant selfie!

One of the most anticipated activities of the programme is the chance to look after the Indian elephants at our camp in Jaipur. After visiting the symbolic Amber Fort, we will arrive at the Elephant Camp and you will have the opportunity to take care, wash and feed the elephants. It’s a fantastic couple of afternoons and dinner plus karaoke afterwards is great way to round off one of the last nights of your stay.
